Best Film of 2005

What movie do you all think was the best film of 2005? For me, nothing compared to Cinderella Man, a movie that was not nominated for Best Picture.

I'm kind of a loser, because I only saw about 5 movies in the theatre in 2005.

Of the ones I saw on the big screen I'd have to go with Chronicles of Narnia, with Batman Begins as a close second.

I'm still waiting to see all the goodies on DVD. I'm especially looking forward to Capote.

Batman Begins with Cheaper by The Dozen 2 as a close second.

Wait a minute....

I just saw Cinderalla Man on DVD a few weeks ago....it was a great film. I think it's a shame Russell Crow didn't get a nod for his work in it.

Best movie I saw last year: Serenity.

A small film called Me and You and Everyone We Know - utterly original and simply perfect.

Ha, Kat, I saw precisely one movie in the theatre in 2005. That was Harry Potter, so yep, that's my fave. ;)

If I'd seen it in 2005, it would have been The New World. It's what cinema would have been if it were fully operational in the early 19th century. But the best movie I actually saw last year was A History of Violence. And there's a beautiful Japanese film called Nobody Knows...a title that also indicates the impact of its release.
